Interesting thing happened yesterday. I was on Facebook and I saw a status update from a friend of mine. It was about an issue he was having with someone else. Many of the responsive postings from his friends were on there and they mostly said what I thought were the usual tired, unimaginative things you hear every day from boring, unimaginative people. I felt compelled to post something that I thought would make them laugh and lighten up. Maybe get them thinking a little. Guess what? No one responded. Hell, I don't think anyone even noticed! After another several predictable responses from the same or new people, I put another post up that was a twist on my first one. Did anyone comment? No! I found my wife and began criticizing the seemingly limited mentality of the public in general and those people on Facebook specifically. I ran them down pretty good, I'll tell ya! Sara smiled at me and effectively summarized my tirade when she said, "You don't feel appreciated, do you?" BAM! That was it! I was depending on others to appreciate and validate me! Do you do that too? So here's the deal. Here's a quote from Abraham-Hicks (see abraham-hicks.com) to put it in perspective. "See this world as a free world, and see everyone in it as trying – through their individual experiences – to find their way back to that calling, back to that Source Energy. And even though there are billions of them going about it in a way that is different than you would choose, there is no right or wrong way. In other words, bless them all and get on with the only thing YOU have any power about, which is opening or closing YOUR vortex to YOUR state of Well-Being." What Abraham-Hicks is saying is this: YOU have control over your own thoughts and feelings, which in turn create your life experiences. What others think or don't think of you has no bearing on anything. YOU give yourself validation and YOU appreciate yourself for who you are and everything will turn out fine, in spite of any surrounding environments. In fact, YOUR reality will be exactly what you want while others struggle with trying to ineffectively CONTROL their own circumstances. So…I'm appreciating my own self. I give myself permission to be who I am. I am beautiful, valuable and worthy, whether others see it or not. I realize that others, including YOU, are also as beautiful, valuable and worthy, as I am. To our success…
